I really missed the Basic Grey challenges - now they are back with new and improved blog - and they are offering a super cool blog candy:
It contains a whole bunch of papers, flowers, fibers, stamps and other crafting goodies
Isn’t it FABULOUS?

Last week’s Friday Focus on Flourishes blog was paper piecing. I was really inspired by the tutorial created by Faith so I decided to use the I Love Roses set too. And here is the result:
The whole rose is paper pieced using Basic Grey Porcelain papers. The base of the rose is one paper a bit colored with Prismacolor pencils to matched the popped up middle. Paper I used for the middle of the flower is a bit yellow-y so I added a bit of yellow to the base too. The leaves are half colored with Prisma pencils too. All the other papers and the brads are from the same collection.
I loved the technique, so I decided to make another card. Same papers, just this time I used my new Gorjuss girl stamp from Funky Kits. And here she is:
Another great challenge on Basic Grey challenge blog - this week we need to add TEXTURE to our creations. I don’t have a clue how is this stamp called, received the image from my SCS friend Cloudia (thanks a lot Cloudia) - I’m calling it Flying
It’s colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS and stumps. Then I added Martha Stewart White Gold Glitter for texture.
The papers are from Basic Grey Ambrosia collection, grey CS is Stampin Up. The card base is dry embossed with flourishes/swirls and it compliments the Ambrosia papers nicely, but it’s really hard to see on the picture. More texture added with orange and grey satin ribbons.
